• in a T cell co-stimulation assay, peritoneal macrophages derived from homozygous mutant mice are completely resistant to delta9-tetrahydrocannabinol inhibition of co-stimulatory activity and hence T cell activation, as evidenced by the drug's failure to suppress IL-2 production by helper T cells
• however, homozygotes normal delta9-tetrahydrocannabinol-induced hypothermia and catalepsy, indicating that the CNS effects of cannabinoids, thought to be mediated by cannabinoid receptor 1 (brain), are not altered
