• thioglcollate-elicited peritoneal macrophages show impaired production of Il6, Tnf and the chemokine KC, upon stimulation by TLR ligands such as LPS or CpG DNA, but response to poly(I:C) is comparable to wild-type
• cytokine production in response to TLR ligands such as LPS or CpG DNA is defective
• after challenge with LPS or CpG DNA together with D-galactosamine, no mutants died in contrast to 100% mortality of wild-type to endotoxic shock
