cardiovascular system
• in response to catheter-induced carotid vascular injury, homozygotes exhibit attenuated vascular proliferative indices, as shown by a significant reduction in the intima-to-media ratio, % lumen stenosis, number of intimal BrdU-labeled proliferative cells, and platelet activation

hematopoietic system
• in response to catheter-induced carotid vascular injury, homozygotes display reduced platelet activation, as shown by a reduced injury-related increment in urinary excretion of metabolite 2,3-dinor-TxB2
• these findings are consistent with data obtained with antagonist S18886

homeostasis/metabolism
• in response to catheter-induced carotid vascular injury, homozygotes display reduced platelet activation, as shown by a reduced injury-related increment in urinary excretion of metabolite 2,3-dinor-TxB2
• these findings are consistent with data obtained with antagonist S18886
• after catheter-induced carotid vascular injury, homozygotes show a reduced periprocedural increment in urinary metabolite 2,3-dinor-TxB2

mortality/aging
N
• homozygotes are born in the expected Mendelian ratios and appear normal and healthy without histological abnormalities in major organ systems

homeostasis/metabolism
• homozygotes fail to exhibit platelet aggregation responses upon induction with agonist U-46619
• after collagen treatment, homozygotes display a prolonged delay prior to the onset of platelet aggregation, although maximum aggregation is similar between wild-type and mutant mice
• no differences in platelet aggregation responses induced by addition of ADP to platelet-rich plasma are observed
• conscious homozygotes display significantly prolonged bleeding times (>10 min) relative to wild-type mice (on average 965 sec)

cardiovascular system
• i.v. infusion with agonist U-46619 causes transient increases in blood pressure followed by cardiovascular collapse in wild-type but NOT in mutant mice
• homozygotes are also resistant to the hemodynamic collapse induced by arachidonic acid, although mean arterial pressure is reduced by ~25 mmHg

hematopoietic system
• homozygotes fail to exhibit platelet aggregation responses upon induction with agonist U-46619
• after collagen treatment, homozygotes display a prolonged delay prior to the onset of platelet aggregation, although maximum aggregation is similar between wild-type and mutant mice
• no differences in platelet aggregation responses induced by addition of ADP to platelet-rich plasma are observed

reproductive system
N
• despite high levels of expression in the placenta and uterus, homozygotes show no significant differences in fertility, pregnancy, gestation, delivery or litter size relative to wild-type mice

immune system
N
• homozygotes exhibit normal thymic architecture and cellular composition relative to wild-type mice
• no differences in the number of total T cells, CD4+ T cells, CD8+ T cells, B cells, or macrophages are observed in spleen

• mice exposed to ovalbumin and U-46619 fail to exhibit increased airway resistance unlike control mice

• following catheter-induced carotid vascular injury, double homozygotes fail to exhibit the enhanced vascular proliferative response observed in Ptgirtm1Sna homozygotes
