• mice maintain grafts longer than controls when they are recipients of fully MHC-disparate cardiac grafts
• control mice reject cardiac grafts within one week while grafts are tolerated 3 to 4 days longer in these mice
• the addition of a sub-therapeutic dose of cyclosporine A (CSA) increases graft survival for 30 days compared to 10 days in control mice
• histological analysis of CSA treated mice 7 days after transplantation show an absence of lymphocyte infiltration
