mortality/aging
• mice exhibit higher survival rates than wild-type mice when infected with 104 colony forming units of Escherichia coli

immune system
• 20 minutes after exposure to LPS-galactosamine, serum TNF-alpha levels are reduced more than 20-fold relative to similarly treated wild-type mice
• following exposure to LPS-galactosamine, mice are less severely affected and survive longer than similarly treated wild-type mice
• mice fail to respond to LPS stimulation as determined by gene expression
• mice exhibit higher survival rates than wild-type mice when infected with 104 colony forming units of Escherichia coli
• mice inoculated with Candida albicans exhibit a reduction in vaginal fungal burden compared to wild-type mice, however polymorphonuclear neutrophil migration to the vagina is similar to levels in wild-type mice

homeostasis/metabolism
• 20 minutes after exposure to LPS-galactosamine, serum TNF-alpha levels are reduced more than 20-fold relative to similarly treated wild-type mice

immune system
• spontaneous migration of neutrophils in a in vitro transendothelial migration assay is increased relative to wild-type cells for 13.5% of neutrophils
• IL-8- and leukotriene B4- stimulated neutrophils in a in vitro transendothelial migration assay are only increased by 2.5- and 2.3-fold, respectively, compared to 3.8- and 6.1-fold, respectively, in wild-type cells
• however, polymorphonuclear neutrophil emigration into tissue is normal whether stimulated by IL-8 or thioglycolate
