• spontaneous cardiac decompensation is seen in 3 of 6 double mutants

• 3 of 6 double mutants become tachypneic between 11 and 14 weeks of age

• the normal beta-adrenergic (via dobutamine) augmentation of cardiac contractility and relaxation is absent in mutants (J:41949)
• reduction in contractility of left ventricle
• heart rate is slower during conscious blood pressure measurements and anesthetized echocardiographic studies
