• progressive neuron loss in the ventrobasal complex of the thalamus
• perikaryal accumulation of disarrayed filaments in the thalamus resulting in swelling of perikarya and proximal dendrites and eccentricity of the nucleus
• neuronal density and thickness in the occipital cortex is slightly decreased between P90 and old age in layers II/III and layers V/VI
• reduction in thickness of the parietal cortex; thickness of layers II/III are greater than normal at P10, are similar to normal at P20 and P90 and become 29% lower than normal in aged mice while layer IV is 2-5% thinner from P10 to P90 and 23% thinner in aged mice
• progressive neuron loss in layers II/III of the parietal cortex
• perikaryal accumulation of disarrayed filaments in the parietal cortex resulting in swelling of perikarya and proximal dendrites and eccentricity of the nucleus
• 40% neuronal losses in layers II/III of the parietal cortex and in the ventrobasal complex of thalamus in aged mice
