mortality/aging
• female mice die by 9.5 months of age

endocrine/exocrine glands
• female mice develop mammary gland tumors and die by 9.5 months of age
• however, virgin females do not develop mammary gland tumors
• female mice develop well differentiated microcystic/glandular adenomas or carcinomas and papillary adenocarcinomas that resemble normal pregnant and lactating mammary epitherlium as well as fibroadenomas and occasionally solid carcinomas that do not resemble a normal mammary gland
• 17% of tumors are glandular/microcystic foci combined with papillary, fibroadenomatous or solid foci
• while lung metastasis is rare, most tumors are transplantable
• most tumors are well differentiated adenomas and adenocarcinomas
• glandular hyperplasia worsens with each pregnancy resulting in the creation of numerous hyperplastic alveolar nodules resembling tumors
