• 25% exhibited neuronal migration defects in the cerebral cortex; restricted to later-generated cortical neurons
• immunostaining of ectopic neurons indicated that the defects were cell-autonomous
• disorganization of the CA3 region
• the CA1 region was unaffected
• many granule cells were arrested in the molecular layer
• in some cases, defects in Purkinje cell migration were observed
• disorganized mitral cell layer
• reduced granule cell density relative to controls
