mortality/aging
• around 50% of homozygotes die between 3-15 weeks of age

behavior/neurological
• lethargy is seen with hydroencephaly
• mutants fail to eat
• mutants exhibit reduced activity

cardiovascular system
• bleeding on the surface of the brain is seen in some mutants with hydroencephaly

endocrine/exocrine glands
• the islets are larger than normal and show more intense insulin staining
• the subcommissural organ is disorganized in the presence or absence of hydroencephaly

growth/size/body
• homozygotes weigh 7-10% less than wild-type littermates from 4 to 14 weeks of age

nervous system
