phenotype observed in females
phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype
vision/eye
• at P0, in the cortical region of the lens the fiber cells are disorganized with clefts, vacuoles, and swollen cells present
• at P0, in the transition zone the fiber cell nuclei appear swollen and persistence of DNA is seen
• at P8, the anterior suture morphology is altered with reduced attachment of the fiber cells
• at P0, nuclear and cortical opacity of the lens is seen and this becomes more severe with age
• cataracts are more severe in homozygous compared to heterozygous mice
