normal phenotype
• appeared normal at birth and developed through adulthood without any behavioral signs of cerebellar or retinal degeneration or dysfunction
• anatomically, cerebellar foliation and cortical structure was normal
• the cerebellar nuclei and brainstem structures that innervate the cerebellum, such as inferior olivary nucleus appeared normal
• number of Purkinje neuron were normal
• no evidence of any enhanced Purkinje cell loss in 1 year old mutant mice
