growth/size/body
• transient postweaning growth retardation, which is improved by feeding with paste food

muscle
• bladder and ileal smooth muscle do not respond to carbachol, even at concentrations that evoke maximal cholinergic contractions in wild-type
• noncholinergic contraction elicited by electrical field stimulation is significantly weaker when male bladder strips are stimulated at 1 or 10 Hz and is significantly larger when male ileum is stimulated at 1 Hz but not 10 Hz compared to wild-type
• noncholinergic contraction elicited by electrical field stimulation is significantly larger when female bladder strips are stimulated at 1 Hz but not 10 Hz and when female ileum is stimulated at 10 Hz but not 1 Hz compared to wild-type
• ileal smooth muscle does not respond to carbachol, even at concentrations that evoke maximal cholinergic contractions in wild-type

renal/urinary system
• seen only in males and no different from single homozygous Chrm3 mutant mice, however digestive tract, heart, lung and spleen were normal

vision/eye
• partially dilated pupils, however they are smaller than in single homozygous Chrm3 mutant mice
