• the release probability calculated for inhibitory synapses is decreased although the estimated readily releasable vesicle pool is not decreased and the morphology of the presynapses appears normal
• at 1 - 3 days of age, but not at 20 - 22 days of age, the frequency of spontaneous EPSCs is significantly decreased
• at 1 - 3 days of age, but not at 20 - 22 days of age, the frequency of spontaneous IPSCs is significantly decreased; however no differences in action potential generation or repetitive spike generation in response to depolarizing currents are detected and synapse structure appears normal
• at 1 - 3 days of age, but not at 20 - 22 days of age, the amplitude of evoked ISPCs is decreased
• at 1 - 3 days of age, but not at 20 - 22 days of age, inhibitory synapses show less depression in the course of prolonged high-frequency activation
• at 1 - 3 days of age, but not at 20 - 22 days of age, using either 20 ms or 100 ms interval the paired pulse ratio is increased in homozygotes
