Onecut2tm1Flem mutation (0 available); any Onecut2 mutation (21 available)
phenotype observed in females
phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype
liver/biliary system
• biliary cells persist in ductal plate configuration or delineate enlarged biliary structures instead of giving rise to the bile ducts
• premature dilations are seen within the ductal plates of embryonic livers

endocrine/exocrine glands
N
• at E10.5, dorsal and ventral pancreatic buds appear normal; similar results show no difference compared to controls at E14.5
• at E14.5 and E18.5, expression of Neurog3, insulin, and glucagons is comparable to wild-type embryos; endocrine differentiation is normal
• no enteroendocrine defect is observed; pyloric region is normal, Brunner's glands are present in duodenum, and crypt/villus architecture in small intestine is not altered
• enteroendocrine cells differentiate normally
• biliary cells persist in ductal plate configuration or delineate enlarged biliary structures instead of giving rise to the bile ducts

• pancreas organogenesis is normal at all stages in double homozygotes
• at E14.5 and E18.5, expression of Neurog3, insulin, and glucagons is comparable to wild-type embryos; endocrine differentiation is normal

liver/biliary system
• hepatoblast differentiation is perturbed such that they differentiate into hybrid cells that display characteristics of both hepatocytes and biliary cells
• cord-like organization of the epithelial cells in the parenchyma is severely perturbed in E15.5 embryos with epithelial cells forming clusters surrounded by hematopoietic cells

endocrine/exocrine glands
• at E13.5, dorsal pancreas is smaller than in Onecut1-deficient embryos; no ventral bud is observed, instead consisting of two small cell clusters on the duodenum
• endocrine differentiation is more affected than in Onecut1-null embryos; pancreas sections almost completely lack Neurog3-expressing cells (~0.5 cells/section)
• insulin- and glucagon-expressing cells are almost absent
• endocrine differentiation initiates normally at E9.5 and progresses comparably to wild-type at E10.5, but becomes defective by E12.5
