Dstdt-38J mutation (1 available); any Dst mutation (557 available)
phenotype observed in females
phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype
growth/size/body
• mutant mice are smaller than their unaffected littermates

reproductive system
N
• although reproductive systems of both male and female mutants are normal, homozygous mice cannot mate because of their hind limb weakness

muscle
• the hind limbs of homozygous mice exhibit intermittent spasms from about two weeks of age

behavior/neurological
• both front and, particularly, hind limbs of mutant mice exhibit obvious weakness from the age of about two weeks; however, a standard pathological examination revealed no abnormality of muscle morphology
• from about two weeks of age, the hind limbs of mutant mice splay to the sides and their front paws turn inward
