• at some time points, homozygotes perform better on an accelerating rotarod than do controls

• abnormal nuclear morphology seen in cells in culture at later passages
• increased ATP levels develop in cultured embryonic fibroblasts after passage 5 and at passage 1 in adult fibroblasts
• increased ATP levels are not seen in cells of the cortex and skeletal muscle of 14 month old mice
• cell senescence markers are seen to increase in cells in culture and in brain sections from year old mice
• reduced cell proliferation in culture
• cell density only 30% normal at passage 6
