Find Mice Using the International Mouse Strain Resource (IMSR)
Mouse lines carrying:
WtipGt(XH617)Byg mutation (1 available); any Wtip mutation (19 available)
phenotype observed in females
phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype
homeostasis/metabolism
• at 6 and 24 h after i.p. injection of LPS, 6- to 8-wk-old heterozygotes develop significantly higher levels of proteinuria than similarly treated wild-type controls
• in response to LPS-induced kidney injury, heterozygotes on the C57BL/6 background develop significantly higher levels of proteinuria at 6 and 24 h after i.p. injection of LPS than similarly treated wild-type controls
• however, heterozygotes on the C57BL/6 background do not develop albuminuria after tail vein injection of adriamycin, similar to wild-type controls

renal/urinary system
N
• heterozygotes show no evidence of spontaneous proteinuria at 6-8 weeks of age and do not develop glomerular pathology up to 12 months of age
• at 6 and 24 h after i.p. injection of LPS, 6- to 8-wk-old heterozygotes develop significantly higher levels of proteinuria than similarly treated wild-type controls

homeostasis/metabolism
• at 3 days after a single tail vein injection of adriamycin (20 mg/kg), 6- to 8-wk-old heterozygotes exhibit significantly higher levels of albuminuria than similarly treated wild-type controls
• in response to adriamycin-induced kidney injury, heterozygotes on the FVN background show significantly higher levels of albuminuria, diffuse podocyte foot process effacement, and lower glomerular nephrin expression at 3 days after tail vein injection of adriamycin (20 mg/kg) than similarly treated wild-type controls
• Background Sensitivity: heterozygotes on the C57BL/6 background do not develop albuminuria after tail vein injection of adriamycin

renal/urinary system
• at 3 days after a single tail vein injection of adriamycin (20 mg/kg), 6- to 8-wk-old heterozygotes exhibit significantly higher levels of albuminuria than similarly treated wild-type controls
• at 3 days after a single tail vein injection of adriamycin (20 mg/kg), heterozygotes develop diffuse podocyte foot process effacement, unlike similarly treated wild-type controls which retain normal foot process morphology
