• bone marrow-derived macrophages infected with bacille Calmette-Guerin and stimulated with ATP exhibit decreased killing of the mycobacteria compared with similarly treated wild-type cells
• macrophages fail to form coalesced and acidified multibacillary vacuoles unlike in similarly infected and stimulated wild-type cells
