nervous system
• bicuculline-, pentylenetetrazole- (PTZ), and pilocarpine-induced seizure latencies were decreased
• when treated with 40 mg/kg PTZ, all homozygotes displayed initial focal seizures and about 86% progressed to generalized seizures compared to wild-type mice where the occurrence was 40% and 27%, respectively
• however, no spontaneous seizures or epileptic phenotype were seen in bilateral epidural electrocorticograms

behavior/neurological

homeostasis/metabolism
• hippocampal slices did not develop alkalosis when Cl- was withdrawn
