neoplasm
• mice exhibit increased spontaneous tumor formation with age, with two mice showing tumors, a lung adenoma and a colon adenoma, at 12 months of age
• approximately 50% of mice display macroscopic lesions at 20 months of age compared to 11% of controls
• the number of lesions per mouse at 20 months of age is higher than in controls
• both benign and malignant lesions are seen
• lesions include ovarian cystadenoma, benign serous ovarian cyst, lymphoma, metastatic lymphoma in the liver, intestinal adenocarcinoma, and histiocytic sarcoma

immune system
• mice are otherwise viable and fertile with no overt abnormalities
• at 20 mg/kg, LPS lethality was 36% for control mice, in contrast to 0% for mutant mice after 24 h treatment
• injection of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in control mice (30 mg/kg) induced 46% lethality by 17h after challenge, whereas mutant mice all survived; at 24 h after LPS injection, survival rate was only 8% for control mice compared with 50% for mutant mice
