• in response to LPS stimulation, supernatant from cultured Litaf-deficient macrophages show 40% decreases in levels of 7 different cytokines compared to wild-type levels
decreased susceptibility to endotoxin shock ( J:113750 )
• mice are resistant to LPS-induced endotoxic shock and lethality compared to wild-type; injection of D-galactosamine followed by LPS exposure resulted in lethality of 10/14 control mice after 8 hours and 11/14 after 24 hours, compared to only 6/17 Litaf-deficient mice after 8 hours and 8/17 after 24 hours
