• frequency of apoptotic DP and gamma-delta TCR-positive thymocytes is increased 2-fold compared to littermates
• a 2.5-fold decrease in BrdU incorporation is observed in thymocyte progenitors (triple negative (TN) cells)
• total thymocyte numbers are greatly reduced compared to littermate controls
• double-positive (DP) T cells are absent or nearly so in E17 transgenic mice and their development remains impaired through adult life
