renal/urinary system
• mutants do not show increased urine osmolality after 4 hours or 24 hours of water deprivation (WD) compared to wild-type
• after 4 hours of WD, osmolality of wild-type urine rises to 3328 mosmol/kg H2O from 2166 mosmol/kg H2O at baseline, but osmolality of mutant urine after WD is 2000 mosmol/kg H2O vs 1954 mosmol/kg H2O at baseline
• administration of DDAVP, a selective V2 agonist with water loading produces similar levels of urine concentration in wild-type and mutants, but loading without DDAVP produces dilute urine in both wild-type and mutant mice

homeostasis/metabolism
• after 24 hours water deprivation (WD), concentration of arginine-vasopressin in urine (4.2 pg/ mg creatinine at baseline to 11.2 pg/mg after WD) does not increase to same extent as in wild-type mice (4.9 pg/mg creatinine at baseline to 16.1 pg/mg after WD)
