• severe morphological defects bilaterally in one mouse in which the anterior ventral cochlear nucleus is disorganized and does not form a discrete nucleus and an outgrowth of the cerebellum covers the lateral surface of the AVCN
• an outgrowth of the cerebellum covers the lateral surface of the AVCN in one mouse

hearing/vestibular/ear
• poor response to suprathreshold stimuli in which 4 of 8 mice have late wave thresholds at greater than 50dB in both ears and 2 of 8 had increased thresholds in one ear
• however, click stimuli and pure tone stimulation have normal thresholds and outer hair cells are normal
