• sperm fail to develop hyperactivated motility as do wild-type sperm
• after 2 hours of incubation, sperm have reduced track velocity and path velocity compared to wild-type sperm that exhibit increased track velocity and path velocity and slightly reduced linear velocity
• divalent-free (DVF)-activated whole current is undetectable
• however, initial motility and spermatogenesis are normal
• males do not produce offspring
