• following injection of capsaicin or formalin in the hindpaw, mice display a 39% and 38% reduction, respectively, in targeted chronic pain behavior (licking)
• mice exhibit attenuation of hyperalgesia induced by intradermal injection of capsaicin and exposure to a hot plate after 90 minutes compared to wild-type mice that had a 53% reduction in latency when compared to the 15 minute time point
• however, response to injection of complete Freund's adjuvant is the same as in wild-type mice
