• patch-clamp recordings of olfactory sensory neurons expressing GFP from this allele show response specifically to 2-phenylethyl alcohol by embryonic day 16.5, which is several days before the axons of these olfactory sensory neurons coalesce into glomeruli in the olfactory bulb
