• following doxycycline treatment during gestation or post-weaning, synaptic release in Olfr17+ olfactory sensory neurons is inhibited

• following doxycycline treatment during gestation, targeting of Olfr17+ olfactory nerves fail to converge on the Olfr17+ glomeruli and the number of lacZ+ olfactory nerves decreases with time

• following doxycycline treatment post-weaning, Olfr17+ olfactory nerves migrate randomly within 2 days of induction and their numbers are reduced
