mortality/aging
• mice die at embryonic day 12.5 death due to heart failure from increased resistance from arterial vasculature (J:126240)
• Background Sensitivity: on a CD-1 mixed background, mice die at E13.5 compared to E10.5 for mice on a C57BL/6 background (J:142510)

embryo
• by embryonic day 12.5

cardiovascular system
• in E12.5 embryos, capillaries in hindbrains and neural tubes are thinner, have 40% more branch points, and increased filopodial extensions
• capillary morphology does not change upon injection of netrin-1 protein in the hindbrain of E10.5 embryos
• increase in branching points in the neural tube and hindbrain
• increased vessel branching of the internal carotid artery, intersomitic vessels, and blood vessels within the nervous system

cellular
• no decreases in apoptosis of endothelial cells, suggesting loss of gene regulates guidance and not survival

hearing/vestibular/ear
N
• mice exhibit normal inner ear formation
