immune system
• 57% of single positive thymocytes express a Vbeta14 Tcr-beta chain compared to only 7.5% in age-matched control mice
• there is a compensatory 50% decrease in the number of single positive thymocytes that express Vbeta5 and Vbeta8 chains
• 65% percent of alpha-beta T cells in lymph nodes express a Vbeta14 chain compared to 7% in control mice
• expression of Vbeta8 and Vbeta5 chains on alpha-beta T cells in lymph nodes is reduced by 2.5- and 2- fold respectively
• higher expression of Vbeta14 is due to a higher level of primary Vbeta14 rearrangement to Dbeta1Jbeta1 complexes as revealed by hybridoma analysis
