• 58% of mice do not generate a corpus callosum
• corpus callosum axons fail to cross the midline and instead abnormally direct ventrally before reaching the midline
• the indusium griseum glia are absent in mice lacking corpus callosum and may affect corpus callosum development
• 58% of mice do not generate a hippocampal commissure
• 42% of mice have decreased size of the hippocampal commissure
• 67% of mice do not generate an anterior commissure
• anterior commissure axons in these mice turn to the lateral side but not tothe midline
• 33% of mice have decreased size of the an anterior commissue
• anterior commissure axons take a normal course toward the midline but misproject rostrally at the midline
• commissural axons in the upper spinal cord of E11.5 embryos project in a defasciculate manner toward the floor plate instead of in a tightly fasciculated manner
