• more CD4+ T cells develop into Th17 cells expressing IL-17A when mice are put into a delayed-type hypersensitivity model and an experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis model
• mice have an exaggerated DTH response in a model where wild-type OT-II T cells are transferred into the mice prior to immunization with OVA peptide
• these mice have significantly higher footpad swelling than controls after OVA administration
• there is also a 30% increase in the number of OT-II T cells producing IL-17A in this model compared to controls
• mice develop a higher mean disease score after immunization with MOG peptide compared to controls (3.6 vs. 3.1)
• the number of T cells producing IL-17A is increased in the central nervous system compared to controls
