taste/olfaction
• olfacotory sensory nerves (OSN) that fire in response to amyl acetate and heptaldehyde have faster response termination of their action potentials compared to controls
• OSN also have significantly reduced amplitudes with slower onset kinetics
• amplitude is about half that of controls
|
• mice have attenuated odor adaptation on second encounter to ameyl acetate compared to controls
• this attenuation is observed when there is a 1 or 2 second pause between the two encounters but not with longer time intervals
• mice have normal odor adaptation to sustained odor stimulus
