cardiovascular system
• increased stiffness in maximally dilated aortic ring
• fragmented and irregular in thickness and orientation of the elastic lamellae with increased in interlamellar area occupied by fibrillar or amorphous extracellular matric
• slight reduction in angiotensin II-induced hypertension
• reduced maximal force of phenylephrine- or exogenous potassium chloride-induced aorta contractions whether preincubated with polyethylene glycol-catalase or not
• however, sensitivity to phenylephrine is normal
• mice are protected from CaCl2-induced vascular dilation compared with wild-type mice

homeostasis/metabolism
• decreased NADPH-dependent production of O2- and hydrogen peroxide

muscle
• reduced maximal force of phenylephrine- or exogenous potassium chloride-induced aorta contractions whether preincubated with polyethylene glycol-catalase or not
• however, sensitivity to phenylephrine is normal
• mice are protected from CaCl2-induced vascular dilation compared with wild-type mice
