♂ • adults exhibit premature dendritic branching in hippocampal CA3 pyramidal cells

♂ • shortening in the length of the initial dendritic segment in adults, but not in young mice

♂ • proximal apical dendrites in adults branch earlier and have more dendritic branches and increased complexity, whereas the more distal part of the dendritic tree shows less branching, indicating a shift in the length of more distal dendrites and reduction of arborization in pyramidal neurons

♂ • increase in branching of basal dendrites is evident at P21, but is not seen in adults
