• following treatment with cardiotoxin, regenerating myofibers are smaller with decreased cross-sectional area and a 20% reduction in total regenerated area compared with myofibers in similarly treated wild-type mice
• 10 days after treatment with cardiotoxin, mice exhibit muscle fibrosis unlike similarly treated mice whose injury is largely resolved
• following treatment with cardiotoxin, mice exhibit reduced muscle regeneration compared with similarly treated wild-type mice
