• no effect on the extent of programmed cell death (PCD) of lumbar spinal and selected brainstem motoneurons
• no detectable differences with respect to size, nuclear and cytoplasmic areas as well as Nissl morphology in the remaining motoneurons
• loss of trigeminal and facial motoneurons (19%), lumbar spinal motoneurons (21%) at the age of 6 monthsloss of trigeminal and facial motoneurons
• reduced neuron numbers in the dorsal root ganglia (DRG) L4 (22%) and L5 (25%) at 6 months
