• mice show no major defects in the development of most T cell subpopulations, B cells, NK cells or NK T cells, and exhibit normal pathogen control and T cell response to L. monocytogenes infection as well as normal T cell effector functions following induction of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis
• in vitro, stimulated T cells show normal CD69 upregulation and retain ability to proliferate and activate induced cell death programs

• however, no decrease in CD4+ T cells is noted in periphery (spleen, lymph nodes)
