normal phenotype
• mice are viable and overtly normal with no apparent changes in tissue morphology, body mass, body composition, whole-body energy metabolism, glucose tolerance, or tissue lipid composition whether fed a chow or a high-fat diet
• cholesterol ester (CE) storage and turnover are unaffected in bone marrow-derived macrophages and no changes in CE hydrolase activity or triacylglycerol esterase activity are noted in white adipose tissue (WAT) or liver lysates relative to wild-type controls
• no signs of prostate neoplasia or cancer are observed up to 1 year of age
