homeostasis/metabolism
N
• triglycerides, true triglycerides, and phospholipid concentration are similar to wild-type controls in both sexes
• apoliporotein concentrations and serum levels of lathosterol do not differ between controls and transgenic mice
• in females, the amounts of the neutral steroids such as cholesterol, coprostanol and cholestanol are slightly but significantly lower than in female controls
• excretion of neutral steroids in feces of males is similar to male controls
• females exhibit a decreased relative concentration of cholic acid in bile with a higher relative concentration of alpha-muricholic acid; the ratio between 12alpha-hydroxylated bile acids and non-hydroxylated bile acids is slightly lower than in female controls
• ratio between12alpha-hydroxylated bile acids and non-hydroxylated bile acids in males is not different from control males
• mice exhibit an increase in concentration of 27-hydroxysterol in serum and tissue; levels in serum are 2.7-fold higher than in control littermates while in liver and lungs, levels are 4.2- and 5-fold higher
• serum levels of 24-hydroxycholesterol are significantly lower than in control littermates but level in liver and lungs are not different from controls
• total cholesterol in serum is similar to that in controls

endocrine/exocrine glands
• males have significantly larger adrenal glands than control males

digestive/alimentary system
• in females, the amounts of the neutral steroids such as cholesterol, coprostanol and cholestanol are slightly but significantly lower than in female controls
• excretion of neutral steroids in feces of males is similar to male controls
