• 9-week-old females implanted with a biodegradable pellet containing 10 mg dihydrotestostorone (DHT) to induce muscle hypertrophy do not show an increase in grip strength as is seen in wild-type mice with the DHT pellet
• however, body weight and skeletal muscle weight are increased by DHT treatment to the same extent as in wild-type mice indicating decreased muscle strength
