• cocaine-treated mice exhibit reduced sensitization that develops more slowly than in wild-type mice
• cocaine-treated mice exhibit reduced locomotor activity 15 minutes post-injection on days 3, 4, and 5 compared with similarly treated wild-type mice
• cocaine-treated mice do not develop sensitization until day 4 and exhibit a blunted response compared with wild-type mice
• however, locomotor response to cocaine treatment is normal on day 1
