Retinal abnormalities in Dscam3J/Dscam3J and Dscam2J/Dscam2J mice

nervous system
• type 2 and type 6 cone bipolar cells have lamination specificity defects

vision/eye
• retina displays increased cell number, with ectopic cells in inner plexiform layer projecting into the inner nuclear layer
• type 2 and type 6 cone bipolar cells have lamination specificity defects
• retinal neuritis lamination is disorganized
• ganglion cell spacing and arborization are disrupted
• layer contains fascicles of cell processes unlike even lamination in control retinas
• amacrine cell spacing and arborization are disrupted
