• at E9.5, the Gbx2+ anterior hindbrain is expanded compared to in wild-type mice
• at E9.5 and E10.5, the diencephalic and mesenchephalic regions are reduced compared to in wild-type mice
• at E10.5, the Gbx2+ isthmus is anteriorly expanded compared to in wild-type mice
• however, brain morphology is normal at E15.5 and E18.5
• mice exhibit mild defects in the medial pallium compared to in wild-type mice
