• the aAC axons are 5 times thinner than in wild-type mice
• no thick anterior commissure extend from the ventral to dorsal area unlike in wild-type mice
• at P0, anterior commissure axons are thin and do not cross the midline unlike in wild-type mice
• the aAC and pAC fails to cross the midline unlike in wild-type mice
• however, anterior commissure axon bundles are of normal thickness at P10
