• mutant mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs) show a ~80% reduction in extracellular vesicle (EV) release relative to wild-type MEFs
• however, in gut explants cultures, homozygotes show normal levels of DMT1 (divalent metal ion transporter) released in gut EVs and a similar protein concentration of EVs released from gut EVs relative to wild-type controls
