taste/olfaction
• olfactory sensory neurons exhibit slowed response termination, over-adapt to repeated odorant exposure, and fire fewer action potentials when adapted compared with wild-type cells
• olfactory sensory neurons exhibit over-adapt to repeated odorant exposure and fire fewer action potentials when adapted compared with wild-type cells
• mice exhibit reduced ability to locate odors, as indicated by postnatal decreased body weight, compared with normal mice

nervous system
• olfactory sensory neurons exhibit slowed response termination, over-adapt to repeated odorant exposure, and fire fewer action potentials when adapted compared with wild-type cells

growth/size/body
• likely due to impaired olfaction
• however, weight difference is less pronounced after weaning
