Hyperplasia, dysplasia and adenocarcinoma in A4gnttm1Jnaka/A4gnttm1Jnaka pyloric mucosa

digestive/alimentary system
• increased stomach mucosal thickness compared to in wild-type mice
• of pyloric epithelial cells in the gastric antrum
• in the antrum as early as postnatal week 5
• in the pyloric mucosa but not the fundic mucosa of the gastric corpus
• at 10 weeks, low-grade dysplasia and slight glandular distortion
• at 20 weeks, high-grade dysplasia with marked glandular complexity
• at 30 weeks, well-differentiated gastric adenocarcinoma invading the lamina propria
• at 50 weeks, all mice exhibit adenocarcinomas
• epithelial cells in the pyloric mucosa exhibit increased cell proliferation compared with wild-type cells
• in the gastric mucosa
