• kidneys of mutants fed a carbohydrate-rich diet show a few small tumors
• kidneys of mutants fed a carbohydrate-rich diet show tubular distensions, multiple cortical areas of tubular proliferation and a few small tumors

neoplasm
• mutants fed a carbohydrate-rich diet develop hepatocarcinomas; hepatocarcinomas are seen in all mutants by 6 months of age
• tumor cells show anisocytosis, anisocaryosis and large eosinophilic cytoplasm containing strongly eosinophilic inclusions
• mutants fed a carbohydrate-rich diet develop hepatomas associated with kidney lesions
